Collectibles and Celebrity Autographs

by Mark Turgeon

Across the nation, millions of Americans spend tons of money each year on their favorite past time, which may seem useless to some: collecting items. Some collect action figures, comic books, or trinkets and knick-knacks; others collect celebrity autographs and signed memorabilia that can turn a profit. For years, people were limited to toting their collections from one trade show to the next, or to the nearest convention (which is usually hours away for most).

With the rise of the internet, the world of the collectibles niche is easier for the hobby because you can buy and sell your items on websites like eBay rather than going to card shows or conventions.

Baseball cards, football cards, and other sports cards are all great collectibles, and only made more valuable by the addition of that prized signature. For some reason, celebrity autographs seem to amaze and impress our society, as if they were some sort of status signature.

Average people signed their name millions of time throughout their life, and it completely worthless in street value. However, is a celebrity autographs a photograph or poster, or even a napkin it automatically becomes a value.

The price of a signed item will vary, depending of course on the item as well as who signed it. All celebrity autographs have some sentimental value to someone, but not all of them have the same street value as others. For example, in the 90's, an autographed picture of New Kids on the Block would have been worth thousands.

Now even though the band made a comeback, it might only be worth a lot to that dedicated fan who never gave up hope for the band. With all the idolization of celebrities and rock stars, ink on paper of their favorite star is a meaningful autograph in their lives.

It does not matter if you are into sports, TV, movies, music; there are plenty of authentic celebrity autographs and autograph collectibles that can be found on the internet.

Always do your research on the collectibles dealer, the memorabilia they offer, the prices and the celebrity autographs signatures before you decide to buy. A little research can save you thousands of dollars and also protect your investment for the future.
