Signed Guitar / Memorabilia / Autographed Guitar

by Mark Turgeon

To obtain a signed guitar is a big deal for those diehard dedicated fans. Theres not a better piece of memorabilia than having a signed guitar from your favorite band. The only problem is how to get one thats authentic.

Albums and photographs are more common, because they can be purchased or autographed at concerts or venues after a show and the stars are more likely to sign them. Bringing a guitar is not easy to carry around at the show. However, if you are luck enough to receive a signed guitar from the band. All the better.

Autographed guitars are worth much more than other autographed music memorabilia because they are harder to obtain and more rare within the industry.

All you need to do is to contact a specialist or a memorabilia dealer, and you'd be amazed at some of the ridiculous rates that an autographed guitar are going for. Most sell for less than $10,000, but there are those special few that can be worth hundreds of thousands, or even millions of dollars. It all depends on who signed it, when it was signed, and the condition of the guitar.

Most memorabilia collectors try to find an autographed guitar in excellent condition. Guitars are just instruments, but to actually get one signed by your favorite band or artist is worth way more than the guitar itself.

Of course a signed guitar would be awesome to own, but to get one from the artist that he or she played on along with signing it is much cooler.

You need to have your signed guitar authenticated before you can sell them, because most people want proof of the signing process. With so many forgeries and fakes out there, it's no wonder that people are skeptical, though.

If you didn't get a picture of the signed guitar by the artist(s), then you need to consult a memorabilia expert or dealer for a way to prove the legitimacy of your item. Also, before you buy a guitar that is autographed, you need to make sure it's real, too. Many people make a living off of crafting fakes and forgeries that look more authentic than the originals, so you need to prevent yourself from getting ripped off.
